About Dr. Dao

Dr. Dao attended medical school at Georgetown University. After finishing medical school, he volunteered with AmeriCorps for Healthcare for the Homeless, working with homeless medical clinics and needle-exchange programs in San Francisco, CA. He later completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Georgetown. He’s worked as an Assistant Professor at Duke University and at the Durham, NC Veterans Administration practicing clinical anesthesia.
Dr. Dao currently practices as a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist in the Department of Anesthesiology at Georgetown University. He is licensed to practice medicine in VA, MD, and DC. He practices within the Acute Pain Service at Georgetown University Hospital, focusing on the treatment of fibromyalgia, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, post laminectomy pain syndrome, regional pain blocks, and acute postoperative pain control. He has extensive experience with the use of ketamine infusions for postoperative pain control in postsurgical patients and patients with chronic pain syndromes.

Dr. Dao currently teaches medical students, residents, nurse anesthetics, and anesthesia assistants, in anesthesia practice and the treatment of acute and chronic postoperative pain control at Georgetown.

He loves spending time with his wife and three children traveling, enjoying the outdoors, and coaching his kids’ baseball, basketball, and soccer teams.
